Reset clip gain to 0.0

Post by cderum » Thu Jul 17, 2003 1:12 am

Right now, if I adjust the clip gain, I can't reset it to 0.0, it goes to either
-0.42 or +0.42. It's a small difference, but can be an important detail.

yeah, it should be like if you hold ctrl or Shift and mouseclick on a fader it jumps to 0.0 dB. Or maybe shift and mouseclick is 0.0 dB, ctrl and mouseclick on top of a fader sets it to -infinity dB, or something...

0.0 dB

oops, i almost wanted to write that there is a simple way to achive this:

"press backspace while the slider is selected"

but then i figured out that it does not work ?!!?!?!

i will come back to you in less then 24 hours with hopefully good news regarding this feature for 2.1

cheers, robert / ableton

How about just a double-click? That way it won't be necessary to reach for the keyboard everytime.

dubble click

This seems to be a bit dangerous in a Live situation. Often enough i have been opening an application by accidentally dubble clicking the icon instead of once for selecting it.

But we may have a reset triangle on the volume slider for performing the reset with a mouse click instead.

yeah, double click might be dangerous. I like the triangle idea--would it be midi mappable?--you guys are cool.

Your completely right. I didn't think of that issue. The triangle sounds like a good idea though.

The triangle solution seems the best way to go, I guess it would work the same way you reset the "transpose" and "detune" functions.

damn, this whole time i thought we were talking about the faders on each track in session view, not the clip gain in the clip view. Its not crucial, but the triangle feature on the faders would be cool to be able to reset the fader to 0.0.

Okay, here we go:

- the "press backspace" function to jump to 0.0dB in the clip gain is done.
It is part of the latest beta, out since today 5:45 am !!!! Thanx to Alex@Ableton !!!!!!!!!

- the trianlge needs a different type of fader and will be done some day...

well, better then nothing ;-)
