i have to say, a friend of mine asked me about live because he knows i've been using it a lot and he was interested in its capabilities as a daw, when i told him it didn't have dual monitor support, his exact word were, 'what?! fuck that, then'

Just full-screen midi editing on a second monitor would make me a happy camper.
Laptop: Dell XPS m1210 - 2ghz core duo - 2gb ram - WinMCE2005

Desktop: caught on fire. dead.

I think the next version of Live should have comprehensive MIDI and Audio editing built in, and you should be able to customise the editing window, so it could be either a little sliding pop-up thing, a "hovering" window, or on a second monitor.

If Live 7 doesn't in some way make good use of 2 monitors, I won't buy it.

I mean it's all very well and good to only be able to modify the signal chain of 1 channel at a time (instruments etc), but it would be BETTER to have a modular UI where that was the default behaviour, and advanced users could customise things. So maybe you could see multiple channels at once, so you could edit one midi clip whilst viewing another or something like that.

+1 !

Session AND arrangement view at the same time is a must have.
Nice also would be to have the Clip view on the second monitor, for precise editing. and then maybe even to be able to vertically "pile" several clip views, for fast multiple editing.
Well, ideas are countless...
Then I would just like to point the fact that if we ask for something really freely configurable, losing any standardisation, it could prevent the developpers to really make this new interface a powerful tool. I'd prefer to have the choice between a few well thought "profiles", depending on the actual use.

Let's trust' em !

... Dettachable / Resizable / Re-organizable views (Browser, mixer, session, arrangement, track, clip, etc.) for custom setting in multiple monitor sources
Ye! Specially detachable track strips (windows). Multiple monitor support.....
Session AND arrangement view at the same time is a must have.
Totally agree, a must have.

Also very important, to be able to resize clips/track name/etc... in the seesion view not only horizontally but also VERTICALLY !

I'd love it if they added this. *said like Kevin Keegan*

I forgot to post it on my first message...

but of course would be great that full screen be available on my two monitors. For exmaple, one with session view and the other with midi note editor, all in full screen mode (F11)

My initial excitement faded to a crescent disappointment... Ok, maybe next time

... or maybe never :?

This feature was sooo important for me... i would exchange all the new instrument bunch for it. It makes me think about switching to anoher DAW.

Added a third graphic draft proposal on first post. This one is my favorite for now on.
