In addition to the beginning of gigs, a tuner is also something you use every single time you start to record something with a guitar or bass. And since recording often involves these instrument, there would be lots of use for a tuner.

I don't know about the technical stuff about frequency analyzers, but if tuner was one, it should have a very simple and clear interface to show if the note is correct and if not, how far it is from one.

I also suggested a frequency analyzer to be built into EQ 8 so, that with a click of a button, the frequency analysis would appear behind the eq-curve. It would be completely disablable. But that's a different matter...

A good chromatic tuner would be really appreciated.

Hehe, Funny thread.

Starts with me looking like an ignorant idiot. Ends with pointing out that Spectrum is exactly the plugin I wished for earlier in this thread. It shows the frequencies and it shows the notes.
So there's a makeshift tuner and a freq analyzer now. Only thing missing is something that shows how much semitones/cents you're off from a chosen note, like these tuner pedals and stuff. Though its not like a guitar has something to other than a string to wind up. So Spectrum is even more accurate in the sense that it'll show you if you're on the frequency or not. Adjusting it to 0.01 hz opposed to 1 cents seems more accurate to me.

+! !!!! This is sorely needed, especially for Mac. There are some free tuners out there (Tuneit, and those from Katsura shareware), but the interface doesn't show up properly in Live. (Dunno why Live's AU plugins so often lack a graphical interface.)

+1 - it's GOTTA be an easy add-in. Yeah, I know I can use Spectrum, but, well, I am lazy and sometimes it's all I can do to hide in my basement from my family and horse with Live for 30 or so minutes.

Pretty, pretty please Abefolks?

Hey, if you throw it in a future 8.x release, I'll forget all about the early 8.x crashes. :)

I use a tuner on stage, it would allow me to use one cable less and no fear with the empty batteries.
