+1
but with another idea

as I wrote there (http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... torder=asc) I don't use automapping.

I would like live to provide me the following possibility:
I set all knobs of my BCR2000 to knobs in the Live set.
I'd like when I turn a knob on my BCR, the good device is selected in order to have a better visual control (when I use autofilter or other stuffs)

Any news on whether this has appeared in Live 7?

So binding keys to the majority of live UI elements is still pointless? Woot.

How disappointing. I actually had a pretty good email exchange with one of the guys on Live support and the vibe I got was that this was in the works. Obviously not in the short term.

Maybe it's implemented in a way I just haven't found yet?

excellent !!
I just wrote the same thing I have in my mind when I wrote this thread here:
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... torder=asc

I exhumed this old post.

This could be precisly the only thing I miss

a real focus on the instrument you play with a controller
because our mind aren't BIG enough to learn all the assignations all along the llive set (lot of songs, etc)

The only thing close to this is Novations Automap Universal setup where you can choose different plugins by pressing the far left bottom button on the side and then pressing the far left top button (like apple + tab on a mac) and this changes focus to a plug in of your choice and you can see the names of the plugs at the top, so you don't have to click on the device with your mouse. But their are a couple drawbacks right now it only supports AU's and it doesn't support Ableton's built in plugins. Novation say that VST's are coming soon but no word on Live's built in plugs.

Peace

I'm so disappointed Live7 doesn't have this feature!

for my own opinion, in a live set context, macro are useable but without this features, it's hard (ok,if you don't change instruments and have only the same assignation ... indeed, no problem ... but)

A MASSIVE +1!!

This would make life soooo much easier, workflow & live functionality would increase dramatically.

+111!!1!11

if this were fixed along with the inexplicable lack of response to programm change midi, live would be so much better for live purposes!

I think it also could be done with pure data (free, as Max/Msp isn't)

I'll post here when it will be done :-)
