FOLDER TRACKS

Post by mrsakitumi » Tue Oct 09, 2007 3:05 pm

I find that the arrange page can get too busy to navigate, as well as cluttered with too many tracks running.
It'd be nice to have folder tracks to group multiple tracks, which can then also be muted or soloed collectively.
Imagine, for example, having 40+ tracks grouped to fold into 6 folder tracks
and even having another folder track for unused/scratch audio/midi clips etc.

I can't understand why they didn't add this to Live 7. I will update to Live 7 anyway, but I was wishing this feature more than any other feature because the lack of it messes up big songs. Do we have to wait another year to have it now?

It already seems that they implemented a way to group tracks when you look at how the Drum racks open in session view. Oh why oh why.

You know what? I really agree - the new rack mixer paradigm in the session really shows that they are REALLY close conceptually to this suggestion.

Yeah, the drum rack in the track view nearly looks like folders, just they don't appear to be general purpose.
