Auto Arm track> add as an options.txt entry

Post by Poster » Sun Apr 06, 2008 12:14 am

when you have Arm and Solo set as non exclusive, loading an instrument will not auto arm a track..

could we have this as an option in the options.txt ?

thanks..

it already does, but only when you've set Arm and Solo as exclusive in the prefs..

I want them to auto arm when set to non exclusive as well..

There is such an option. I just can't remember wat is was. Used it in 9 beta. I sent a support request to Ableton to retrieve that command.

Yea, the support guy was giving me a run around to 3rd party links :? :?: I got fed up and went to an old CrashPlan backup (love those guys), luckily it was there.

Here's the procedure:

1) Create the options.txt file as stated here: https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/opt ... file-live/

2)This is what my text file says:

Code: Select all

-ChallengeMethod=2
-EnableArmOnSelection
'EnableArmOnSelection' is the command you're looking for. I'm not sure what 'ChallengeMethod' was for, but I left it anyway. You can try removing it as your own risk (which probably won't be detrimental since you can delete the options file anytime).

Hope this helps until there's a permanent solution.

Thanks!

I know Push uses this by default, shame they don't embrace a more standard prefernces menu.

Hi,

In Ableton Live Lite 9 I managed to activate the EnableArmOnSelection with a text file options.txt successfully .

However, somebody told me this morning that in Ableton Live Lite 10 this is not possible / not working.

Could anybody please verify whether this is true or not? And if so, is there a workaround?

I would like to know before I upgrade to Ableton Live 10 myself. Would there be any difference between Lite and Standard regarding this issue?

Thanks a lot!
