features of Drum Racks when unfolding

Post by bland_handl » Tue Apr 15, 2008 9:08 am

...I don't know about how anybody else is using drum racks, but these 4 things would help me immensely:

1) When unfolding a Drum Rack in session view (to see the in-line mixer) having each sound or choke group displaying it's individual midi pattern as a triggerable clip.

2) To have a "Fold" button or something in Session view that will allow you to hide the mixer tracks of any pads not being used

3) To be able to choose in prefs whether the mutes/etc (that appear when unfolding a track) respond to automap or F-keys

4) It has been mentioned before, but being able to "purge" unused samples from the drum rack would be very useful also.

#1 - just making sure you knew that if you actually drag a pad out to a new track, that's what you get.

of course you lose the all-in-one rackness and the foldability..

just fyi, in case

nice ideas..

hey, thanks again for your advice. Although this doesn't seem to work for me.

It does extract the chain that the pad was triggering & give it a new rack on a new track, but it doesn't extract the midi notes & make a new clip.

Is there a modifier key or something I should be holding when dragging?

cheers

sorry for the mis-info

drag out the inline mixer track, not the pad..

you can also right click on a chain in the list and 'extract chain'

actually that's a lot easier than the dragging!
