audio clip export
Re: audio clip export
What i would love is to be able to replace an Audio Track that is full of effects with an Audio track that has the samples as audio clips but with the effects on it. I find in a slow method, to export and render and reimport and replace etc etc

Re: audio clip export
I know this is a little ot, but is there a way to get create a clip from some audio in the arrangement view and have it sent directly to a clip slot in session view?
Pardon my newbie-ness...

Perfect! Just what I needed to know, saved me some time. I found 'em in Live's browser and dragged 'em to a folder on my Mac.nicholaspaul wrote:...to make a wav of each clip, all I do is freeze the track. Done. In my project folder, is a wav file of each clip, under Samples/Processed/Freeze.
Thanks!
Re: audio clip export
There needs to be a straightforward way of doing this, that works with the browser.
I can drag an audio clip to my Live Library, but it just saves the ALC....
I can drag an audio clip to a folder, but it saves the whole clip in a folder...
I can freeze or consolidate a track, but that's extra work...
I can freeze a track, drag it to an audio track, then using the browser, drag the wav file from one browser area to another, eg, current project to desktop ....
I want to be able to drag an audio clip into the browser. Simple as that.

Re: audio clip export
all i do and its really really simple is click on the clip i want to save as a sample then just click export as long as the audio clip is the only thing highlighted it exports the sample. done
Re: audio clip export
I'm doing this which is working, however it's playing the sample twice. Anyone know how to rectify this? Re: audio clip export
I used Live to make sound FX, which the session view is just awesome for. The problem is, I can have dozens of files that need to be exported, and Live makes this part really tedious. I'm not exaggerating when I say that dragging clips from multiple tracks in Live into Finder would save me TONS of time.
Re: audio clip export
@webbb82 i wish i could find this option.
what i do is opening the sampleeditor via doubleclicking the clip. "right"click the sample and open in finder. from there copy&paste it to wherever i want it.

For 2016 Visitors,
To Export audio clip in Ableton (No plugins, no samplers, no additional software needed)
If you have a long sample and you have already sliced it to multiple clips.
To save them all for future use:
1. consolidate each clip
2. Right-Click Crop clip.
OR to save them all at once:
1. select multiple clips by holding shift while selecting a clip
2. Right-click crop clips.
They will be saved under Samples/processed/Crop Next to your .als file.
For easy access, Right-click on the clip then show in Browser or in Explorer.

Re: audio clip export
Moeo's steps work if you have no clip automation.
If you have clip automation, adding a "freeze" step before "crop" will render the automation into the clip.
So my process for exporting from clip view:
If you have clip automation, adding a "freeze" step before "crop" will render the automation into the clip.
So my process for exporting from clip view:
- Rename clip in Ableton (determines the filename)
- Copy to "export" track (might need a new track because Ableton can't freeze tracks with a lot of samples on them)
- Right-click on clip -> Freeze track
- Right-click on clip -> Flatten
- Confirm clip loop and start markers (freeze & flatten seems to double the clip length)
- Right-click on clip -> Crop
- Your clip will now be rendered to `<project directory>/Samples/Processed/Crop/<clip name> (Freeze).wav`
