Ableton made limiter [PIC]

Practically everybody uses third party limiters in Live, why not something like this?

I do believe that threshold is an important parameter of a limiter.....

and seeing as Abletons limiter is likely as not would be a version of their compressor with an 10000:1 ratio....

Would you need a dither on the limiter if you already have a dither on the render to disk? Adding too much dither will add too much noise wouldn't it?

And without the dither, couldn't you just use Compressor with a ratio between 10:1 and ∞:1 ?

I based on kjaerhus limiter, waves L1 and others, in some case threshold is called gain, this is not important

dither is present in the most, but can be disabled

compressor can't be used as limiter with decent results, search in this forum, as you see the common solution is use Tts pocket limiter or W1 limiter (L1 clon)

the parameters can be changed, but a dedicated ableton limiter is a must in the all-in-one live philosophy

because when you down the threshold the knee does not move horizontally as a brick-wall limiter, and if you compensate this with the output gain the sound loses dynamic

but its a limiter, how much dynamics can you expect to preserve? That's the whole point of a limiter
