Max 4 Live was working just fine yesterday. Today it won't let me save anything. I reauthorized live 9 suite, but this did not help. I see a green box that says trial not started; saving disabled and am not able to save my work in max 4 live.

Also, FYI, I am opening max with the edit button inside Ableton. I am not trying to open it independently of Ableton or anything.

yeeeep.
that's a doozy that one. I have that one.
I was in contact with support for a while on this, a couple of months perhaps ... but I got too busy with work to chase it up more.
for me there are a couple of max patches that will certainly trigger it. ones with a lot of Javascript, especially using @includes. or anything that fails to close a Max window when Live is closed. That process of Max not closing correctly seems to mess up Max's auth functions.

the only "solution" I had was repeatedly pressing authorise and getting really angry.
then I stopped trying to edit max patches all together. that worked. I stopped getting angry then. :|

The relationship between these two applications feels as stable and integrated as a coffee table taped to a donkey.

my traditional rant about max4Live is available here:

reinstalling max resolved the issue.
