Good stuff... I just setup www.max4live.info as a future community for everything max4live. This will include forums for Lemur, monome, other hardware integration. Areas for patches and all kinds of info. I am working on some free screencasts to teach some of the basic concepts of M4L.

www.max4live.info Not .com

I know it's confusing. The .com site was already taken by some anime site.

FYI... I just put a short OSC tutorial up there. I probably could have taken more time on it. But, I was in a rush to get content up there. There will be some screencasts soon.

no, what longjohns is saying is that maxforlive.com is taken by Synnack, who I believe also posts here?

And yes, his site is down, because it's running on private hardware which is broken at the moment.

So there's a bit of competition from people looking to provide "communities" and such - that can't be a bad thing.

yes, what i meant to suggest is that it would seem to be preferable to have many talented people contributing to the resources located at a single location,

as opposed to everyone scurrying about and buying every imaginable iteration of domain names related to m4l

:)

i.e. you guys should communicate and coordinate.

i guess if people want to "compete" and try to have the best site, then whatever...

depends on how you view the internet

Yep. maxforlive.com is mine.

My cable modem died today so all my sites are down until comcast opens on Monday. Stupid internets.

I never really put up the site to compete. I just wanted to share information with like minded people. If people like it then great!. If they don't then it is just a place for me to share my info. :-)

The more great tutorials the better! :-D I don't really have the time to devote to that but it will be VERY needed once M4L ships. I will link back to you of course!

Personally I would like to keep discussion of Max for Live in the Ableton and Cycling forums. For maxforlive.com I don't intend to mirror those forums. Those places are already established with experts on both apps. I spoke with Dom in PM about making a public and dedicated Max for Live board on this forum and he seemed open to it once it's release.

So for my site I want to just focus on patch sharing. Though you could share patches in these forums (like we have been doing for the beta) it provides no way to search for specific types of devices that people post. That's what I'm going to shoot for. Easy search and tagging of devices.
