Hi guys,

I'm very sorry that you guys have had problems with this.
I would like to ask you if Live 8.1.1 solves the problem
for you. You can find it on our download page:

http://www.ableton.com/latest_versions

Thanks for letting me know, if you've upgraded, whether it works
or not.

I guess Friedemann was right in my case.
My Hard drive has bad sectors, so I've replaced the Hard drive.
I didn't get the error message, but I had a lot of spinning beach balls also when this error occurred

Hope this helps...

I get exactly the same error message upon opening 8.1.4 on Windows 7. The other versions such as 8.1.1 don't crash this way on my computer.

The only workaround I discovered is: open a previous version that doesn't crash, go to Preferences, and cleanup the Cache in File/Folder; then open 8.1.4.

If you experience problems with 8.1.4, please use
the "Report a Bug" feature in Live's Help menu and
send us the bug reporting pack. This will help us
figure out what's wrong.

Thanks,

Carl

Has anyone found a fix for the Memory corruption detected (0x5e) error and subsequent crash?
