relevant pluggo objects?

Post by enomis » Sun Sep 13, 2009 8:44 pm

I was wondering if the pluggo parameter objects still function or are even relevant in Max4Live. I am trying to get some old pluggos working in m4l but I haven't been able to get the parameters to show up so that they can be controlled via clip automation. I noticed that m4l devices do not show up in the clip envelope modulation menu. Is there an object that alerts ableton to the presence of a m4l device and tells ableton which parameters can be automated? I'm a little rusty on my plugconfig scripting. Does it still function in the M4L environment?

The easiest way to convert your plug-ins in a way
that supports Automation stuff is to use the Live
UI-versions of objects like knobs/dials/sliders/numboxes
and to use the objects' Inspectors to set the Initial
Enable attribute [put in a value, too, of course].
The name you use as the "Long Name" in the Inspector
will be the name that appears in the list of parameters
which can be automated (at least this is how it worked
the last time I looked. Don't think it's changed).

excellent! thanks. It'll take some rework to get my old plugins in m4l format but the new dial functionality is much easier to work with than the old pp setup. I had tried the dial earlier but I missed the "modulation mode" menu. As soon as that is selected it appears in ableton's automation menu. thanks again!
