Hi, i installed max for live as stated in the email i received, but nothing shows up inside live, also when i go to the user accounts section in the preferences of live nothing shows up about m4l. anyone had this problem???? Reinstalled both programs several times but still nothing shows up.

there are probably 2 live applications, are you launching the correct one?

does it say max for live on the right hand side?

then, max instruments/effects should be with all of the normal plugs/instruments. so, wherever you would find impulse and the likes, you should see an option for max stuff

yes i have live 8.04 but im definitely launching the new beta as it says max for live at the side, i see no new instruments or effects at the side just the standard live ones.

I'm running in beta testing and i got the same problem
I can't see MFL in my pref/accounts and when i go to authorize @ ableton and launch in i can see
my serials but no way to clic on
authorize this computer!
Did go thru and if yes How??

I am also having the same issue. I am unable to see max for live after I did the install and authorize. When I authorize it doesn’t authorize max for live. I am using version 8.5. It appears when I did the max install link I was directed to it only installed Max 5 and only two links came from that on desktop. max runtime and max 5.0. Anyone has a fix to this?

I have the same issue, on a macbook. Now I just have seen in a different thread someone wrote that you should try to use safar instead of firefox when authorizing. I will try later when at home and report back.

nope, also using safari for unlocking didn't work.

I beleive that you can only use maxforlive with ableton 8.1 beta version. I found a link to download 8.1beta and was able to unlock. I figured they would allow us to use it in there most recent update ableton 8.05

yes, I know, But I was unable to unlock it on the 8.1.3 beta

i'm having a similar problem here. i installed live (8.1b4) and max (5.1.0a1) betas, authorized online, but max for live is not showing under the preferences or even in the authorization preference pane (in software instruments). i also don't see the max application location in the file/folder tab in live's preferences.

i'm running snow leopard in a mac book pro and running out of ideas for how to solve this…

Same Here, Just installed and got nothing in File/folder tab in Pref panel. Nothing in Software instruments either. Anyone from Cycling 74 or Ableton know why this would be?

Im running Ableton 8.1b4 and Max 5 latest on a macbook pro Intel core 2 duo 2.33ghz running 10.4.11

Same thing, no show....

It needed re-authorization, now it's fine. Even if it does not complain about authorisation it might need it...
