manage fx on off button

Hello,
I would like to know how to manage fx on and off thru max to save some cpu?
Imagine i have a lot of fx in a set and i need to turn some on and some off to make it run smoothly
the idea would to have access to a list of fx on/off buttons and then manage that with a coll object
Any advice is welcome!!

Device on/off button is the first parameter on each device:

the path is something along the lines of:

live_set visible_tracks <track number> devices <device number> parameters 0 value 0/1
