Max crashing a lot with 8.1b10

Max crashing a lot with 8.1b10
Anyone else having this problem? I downloaded the new beta this morning and so far it seems that whenever I save or close the Max editor window, Max crashes. Seldom does it not crash.

I'm trying to do a patch here now but every time I save the patch Max crashes, however it saves it nevertheless. I'm also using 8.1b10.

I've experienced this too (and not just with the latest beta).
At first I assumed it was something to do with my (dodgy) patching technique.
Its a long shot but are you editing any abstractions or have multiple instances of devices?
I'm wildly guessing but I thought it might be something to do with saving/altering something in Max which was simultaneously being run by Live.

It crashes when I save the generic Max MIDI Effect as well, so it should not be something with the complexity of the patch itself. I'm on snow leo, does it crash on windows also?gavspav wrote:I've experienced this too (and not just with the latest beta).

Most of my songs now cause Live to crash when they load. I also get Max crashes upon saving patches, most of the time. Its pretty bad.

Max crashes every single time I save a patch.

This is a known issue that has to do with version differences of the beta releases.
Please wait until the beginning of next week; it should be resolved and you'll be able to save from the m4L device edit mode.
For now, you could downgrade to a prior version of Live 8.1b09 if you have it around on your machine.
If you don't, it might be worth requesting that Ableton gets that version of their beta up online somewhere (not sure if they have all of the versions posted somewhere).

Can't downgrade as it forces you to use the latest version each time you load Live!
