Wire a maxpat file into Live?

total noob coming from Reaktor...How can I wire a Max example so it works in live? Plays through computer speaker, but I can't seem to route it to the plugout-

start by opening the preset content to see how audio and midi are routed. also pay attention to the Live track type.

First drag device template (for example Max Audio Effect) into a track, open the template in editor, copy the maxpat, paste into the template, create or delete the necessary connections to midi/plug/in/out and save (as). This will create an .amxd file.
It sucks that we can't open or save .amxd directly in Max...
