IF Max is Working for You, Please Explain...

Post by The Phat Conductor » Mon Jan 04, 2010 1:48 pm

I'm on a Mac Pro, running bought n paid for ableton live 8 suite + max for live.

it crashes ALL the time, and when it does it takes the undo history with it. BOOOO!

I tried trashing the Ableton Prefs and everything but i just can't get it to work.

Ableton 8.1.1 crashes all the time too... even doing simple things like opening a new project. It's maddening! I am on some serious deadlines and need everyting to be running smoothly. This is so annoying, i can't even tell you.

Thanks!

Did you already send your Log and crashlog files to support?
There seems to be something wrong with your installation.

Yes, I use it all the time, it doesn't crash on me.

In my experience insane crashes all the time equate to "buggy VSTs". What's in your plugins folder, buddy?

Working fine here too with OS 10.6 , excepted some weirdness time to time, for instance being unable to edit a max patch.

That would be the first I ever heard about it. Even if you can't open a patch in Max. Open it in a text editor and copy/paste it in Max.

Made it crash once or twice the last couple of weeks, but no biggies. Grab the hands of the sweet people at Ableton support.

Well, that seems to be more specific to the 7up device and not something general.

I'm running both latest version. Not really any fatal problems.

Whenever I hit 'edit' max crashes live and eats my undo history... or else it opens literally HUNDREDS of editor windows until i have to force quit.

I'll try to crash it now and get a report for you.

i got it to crash two ways, but not the undo history eating one...

the first (with the hundreds of editor windows) generated a crash report that was too long to post here, and then now it simply disappeared.

anyway, i gotta go. i have to finish 4 mixdowns by the end of the day! yikes!

i'll get you some crash reports soon tho... i really do want max to work for me!
