Any easy way to make custom scales in schwarzonator ???

Hi' yah,

Yes schwarzonator is great fun ... but has anybody managed to easily add their own custom scales to it??

the note values sit in a coll somewhere, IIRC. or a separate text/XML file, I forget.
mbp 2.66, osx 10.6.8, 8GB ram.

The coll object is your friend. You'd use the MIDI note number for the index, and then store the frequency you want. I do it all the time to considerable effect.

CK's right. For more information, I would politely suggest you choose "Max Tutorials" from the Help menu in Max, and scroll down to the Max Basic Tutorial 18 "Data Collections", where all will be revealed.

Hey,

Yeah I found the coll and the list of numbers associated with the scales but did not come up with any neat way of inserting new scales quick ... Are u just hand typing every note in every scale in ?

Well, I only tend to use a single scale (one of my own making), so I only have to do the typing once.

Alternately, you could write yourself a Max patch that calculated the pitches for you, of course. An uzi 128 object feeding a counter and some calculation stuff, with a pack object stuck on the end....
