Launchpad and stepsequencer not working

I'm having problems getting the step sequencer to work with Launchpad.
If i use the novation beta step sequencer the lowest rows lights up for each step and the buttons work (pitch, velocity, page etc.), but i can not edit notes or see the notes that are playing on the launchpad. The user two button works fine.
If i use the drum sequencer, or the cs, with the cs patch from the max lesson i'm then able to edit notes, but only the metronome lights up.
This is on Live 8.1.1 and i tried both max 5.1 and 5.2.
Anyone an idea what could be wrong?

Are you on pc? or mac?

Those patches use a .jit object, jitter requires quicktime, 7.2 or higher I think.

Hadn't installed quicktime in years and never missed it.
Have'nt figured the other sequencers out, but now at least the novation sequencer is working.
The ableton step stuff seems to change with each max version though.
