Live.button does not work with key map?

Sorry if this is documented somewhere but I can't seem to find any info on it.
I'm simply trying to get a bang from a live.button object when I map a keystroke (or a midi note) to it using the key map/midi map in live. When I map the live.button to letter on my keyboard the button changes color but no bang happens. When I click the button with my mouse it works perfectly. I was thinking it may have something to do with the range of the button but nothing i try works. Thanks!

I see my post is very confusing so here's a clarification...
I wrote a small patch so I can assign a midi button on my keyboard to a live.button which either folds or unfolds a group track.
When I go back into live, I am trying to assign using the key map a button on my computer's keyboard to the live.button. So I hit ctrl + K (I am on Windows 7) and select "e" to trigger the button. When I put my max audio effect in a group track, I click the live.button with my mouse and the track folds and unfolds perfectly as I want. I then try to hit "e" on my keyboard to trigger the same button in seemingly the same way, but nothing happens. The button changes color, but the track does not fold.
Shouldn't clicking the button with the mouse, and triggering the button on my computer keyboard do the same thing? I'm not seeing any errors or anything. Anyone have any idea what i'm doing wrong?

might be the fact that it is the keyboard, since it only acts as toggle switches from my knowledge

Turns out it's not the toggle nature of the button, it still does send the bang, but somehow there is a difference between hitting the button with the mouse and hitting it with the keyboard... i'll post my findings when i figure it out, thanks!

I'm resting your patch, and I've notices that the problem remains using a midi mapping instead of keyboard one.
But, yes, it works with the mouse.

yeah looks like this has nothing to do with the keyboard acting as a toggle...
i fixed it, but i am now using three separate live.objects, instead of just one and grab objects. Is there some limitation of the grab object with live.object? My fix is assuming it is not bad to use multiple live.objects connecting to the same ID. Can this cause any problems?
I find it very strange that clicking the mouse and using the key map don't yield the same results with this patch. Is there something i'm missing? Below is my "corrected" patch. Keep in mind i am just learning max so any ideas on how to improve would be very helpful! thanks all!!!

in your first patch there was a (dangerous) feedback, you have changed an object (via it´s id number) by itself. This seems not to be very stable.

The other problem was that clicking the button and using the keyboard (with the intention of a "momentary" controller) would produce different results as the keyboard acts as a toggle.
I found a way around that though, by setting the button to bang both on 0 and 1, and making sure there is some significant delay between the bangs (i used clocker at about 500ms with a gate)
Any simpler way to do this?

unfortunately your solution with the button did not work for me because it bangs twice when clicked with the mouse some longer than a very short time :(
The solution with the toggle works very good - (in the result like my solution posted above, but your solution seems more confident to me because my solution looks a little bit like a feedback and may have unwanted side-effects).

Also have checked with some gate-solutions, and now I think I have a solution - in conjunction with your gate solution - that will (hopefully) work in all cases. -> Because a (dummy) Live-toggle which is opening the gate after inserting a new instance of the device will prevent the bang in this case but not when loading a new preset into the device. So, we also have to close the gate at first when a new preset is loaded. Therefor we need a second (dummy) Live-toggle with a lower order than our "workaround button"
