I read on another forum that people were developing ways to make max control cv synths, similar to Motu Volta and Expert Sleepers Silent Way. Are there any M4L devices out there that do this?
On a side note I thought this vid was really cool, controlling CV straight from Live:

This vid shows making LFOs and envelopes but I am also interested in controlling pitch and gate.

There's a bunch of threads on this on the muffwiggler forums. Like this: http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13703
They talk about using reaktor but same thing applies to Max and maxforlive.

"Get a dc coupled audio interface, which usually means MOTU.
If you want an envelope coming out? Feed ADSR~ *directly* to the output. LFO? Feed your LFO *directly* to the output.
No hoops to jump through for those types of things, it just works."
This seems really easy, my question is what objects would one use for pitch and gate , to play notes?

Gate is easy, just send a "1" into sig~ and on out for as long as you want the gate open.
Pitch is a lot harder, all soundcards are a bit different. So you need to be correcting your output value for pitch based on pitch detection of a reference tone from your oscillator.
