Euclidean Sequencer M4L

Post by crx091081gb » Tue Mar 01, 2011 1:41 am

People kept hassling me for this on my blog after I posted a teaser a year ago so I thought I'd better pull my finger out and stick it up on the web. I made it donation-ware, I dunno if that offends anyone but I'm skint and I spent a load of time on it plus people seemed to want it so if you like it and you're feeling generous then you can send me a couple o' quid.

Nice design!

But unfortunately, it seems that the first note on start is not triggered..

What was the pattern? I'll see if I can recreate that.

It happens for me even with the initial default pattern.

great concept!

There are still a few bugs, like the missing first beat when starting the sequencer and the save-with-live-set thing. And I miss some features like the ability to switch on/off certain parts, setting the velocity for each part and add some controlled randomness to give it more liveness.

So I hope you don't mind if I try to improve some things (just in my point of view)?!

congratulations and thank you!

Fixed the first note bug, it's actually a problem with MSP, the phasor~ doesn't start from zero when the transport starts. Subtracting a tiny amount from it sorts it without screwing the timing any more than m4l already suffers from.

The updated version is on my website.

I seem to remember that getting the sequencer to save its settings with live was going to be fiddly something to do with the js integration, it's ages since I looked into it... The other features you mention sound good, hack away, I might put them in myself.

If you end up using it lots then consider chucking us two quid.
