Who patches on paper?

Post by XPM » Tue Mar 01, 2011 12:27 pm

I've just found myself writing max patches onto bits of paper at work so that I don't forget the cool idea I've just come up with. Anyone else do any programming on paper when you don't have your computer handy?

sure... even with a computer handy I often start by sketching things out. This becomes more important as your patches become more complex; I like to map things out before I start patching. Some of my sketches look like a madman's writing. I've been meaning to put some up on the forums for humor's sake.

If you have a steady hand and a sharp needle, try etching patches onto silicon wafers.

I always consider the programing part the easiest one.
When I find a quiet moment to think over I don't think of Max Patchers but of concepts and what CONTENT I want to put into a project/song.
And maybe I would even write down those ideas on a piece of paper. :D

Always interesting to share ways of thinking and working!

cheers,
Simon
