Need Help about M4L update

Hi,

I have update Live and M4L today.
I have a serious trouble for my works with M4L (stages with my computer and external surface).

I use "M4L API" to control Live with external surface (monome).
I use, to control parameters's device of Live, the abstractions "M4L.api.SelectDevice" and "M4L.api.SelectParameters" in bpatcher to access to the umenu.

When I use my M4L patches since the update, "M4L.api.SelectDevice" detect the devices, but "M4L.api.SelectParameters" don't work and I can't choice and control the parameters of the Device.

Do you know what is the trouble ?

hi

you might run into a problem in the abstractions that has also been reported by another user:

when for example asking for the devices in a track it is possible that is has none. this will now result in the keyword "<empty>" being reported (instead of no message) which makes it much easier to react to this case

unfortunately this also affects some abstractions like "M4L.api.SelectParameter"

here are the fixed abstractions as a drop in replacement which should help until we release an updated content pack - so if you like please:

- download and unpack the linked file

- put the included max patches in the folder:

"patches/m4l-patches/LiveAPI resources/abstractions"

which is inside your Max5 program folder (they should replace their according older version that already exist in this folder)

then close and reopen any open Max and Live - would be great if you find the time to tell us if this fixes your problem

Could you please send a set which causes these errors? Simply dragging a Ctrl1LFO device into an empty set does not cause any trouble, so I assume that there is something about your set which is causing a problem for the code which controls the menus. Also, please check out the solution to a similar issue posted here: http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php? ... 8#p1275158. Could be that it's the same problem, although your issue sounds like it might have to do with your monome hardware. Please let me know.
