Should I buy M4L with discount or wait?

Post by kanuck » Tue Apr 05, 2011 6:00 pm

So, I for one am planning to buy max for live down the road. may that be in 6 months or 1 year. The only reason I haven't gotten it yet is I'm still learning a few basics like fm synthesis. I've always been one to buy something off at a discount now (in this case 30% off) then to pay full price when i really do need it. So your guys' guesses, is 30% just something ableton through out to make it seem fair to the other suite owners? Will there most likely be a better deal along the road? In conclusion, should I pull the trigger on M4L now or later? Thanks.

My guess is there isn't gonna be another, even better discount anytime soon.

I'd also guess it comes free with Live 9 - but that's not gonna come out tomorrow, or next week either...

Are you guessing that m4l would be free? or a runtime? of course i know this is only your guess and not the company's decision.

hai Kanuck

Pull the trigger, download the max for live trial
look at the tutorials http://www.cycling74.com/docs/max5/vign ... rials.html
play with the FM synthesis tutor and you will notice how much you can learn about basics in M4L
and buy it later this month

there wasn't till now a deal like this for M4L

and what and when and how Ableton 9 will come is all a guess!

But I'm not you

Cheers

no need to try the trial ;)
i've already decided i wanted it.. it's just i don't need it yet.. but hearing everyone's opinion makes me want to pull the trigger.

i bought suite at 30% off as well.. earlier than than I expected to.. best decision ever.

I would buy it now. The longer you play with it the more ideas you have and you might as well start that process now.

Oh, and I'd bet $100 they don't include M4L for free with Live 9. That sounds like crazy talk.

I upgraded to Suite pretty recently, too :( Lost out on 20% more of a discount. Story of my life lol

I wouldn't wait :|
I don't 'produce.' I write music.

Well, considering that the price has been coming down and now they're giving discounts on it as well as bundling it AND keeping in mind how long it's prolly gonna take for Live 9 to come out... :P
Just a dumb guess, hehee!

there's someone selling one of those that was looking to buy something from me.

if you are interested I could send you his details...
I slipped into a daze, whilst I was there I heard the most startling music, it was at once familiar and alien, reassuring and unsettling.
