can you be more specific ?
Well pretty much identical to the OP, mbp on latest 10.6 and live 8.2.2.
The same symptoms etc, when I install the file the effect looks different to when I create a new file too, one has a freeze button the other is smaller and has a grab button respectively. Either way, neither let audio through when the freeze button is initiated and constantly for the other smaller G.U.I
You might be confusing two different devices.
One of them is Freeze, and is available from Roberts site.
The other is the granulator "grabber" that was part of the granulator download and install and is used if you want to put out side audio into granulator.

Original poster here.

The latest version (version 2 from Monolake.de site, last updated April 13th) works for me! : )

Wow. Thanks Robert. Such a wicked effect.

Interesting to see how much extra CPU multiple voices chews up vs single voice - but guess that's to be expected! ; )

very cool.

if you get around to writing a version 3, i'd love a wet/dry pot, to create non-linear transitions from the freeze to the original source.

Very cool though.

Only downloaded the M4L demo a few days back, so a complete Max novice here. But loving the possibilities!

re: cpu usage:

this is a drawback of the current MaxMSP solution in general. The flexibility comes with a certain overhead. But I might encapsulate stuff in externals in the future, or find another solution to make it more efficient.

re: additional feature wishes:

dry/wet is noted. i thought about it already. i have a few more ideas in the pipeline, which might be übercool, but they will need some time to code.

planned:
- independent fade in / fade out time ( easy to do)
- dry/wet ( easy to do)
- XXXXX(will not tell) ( a lot of work to make it work really nice, but would be mindblowing)

you've written some really interesting patches! Some gems on the Monolake site : )

All very exciting.. now just see what my laptop can handle in a live situation... hmmmm

and maybe time to dig into Max... seems like a 'Pandora's box' though. Oh-o
