ANNOUNCEMENT

We are proud to announce MaxScore for Live.

MaxScore for Live brings music notation to Ableton Live and is part of the current MaxScore release.

Download the files from

http://www.computermusicnotation.com/co ... page_id=22

and read the instructions carefully.

In addition, you will need a JMSL license (30 days free, request an extension if you need more time to test), and a music font (current support is for the Maestro music font only; if you have Finale or Finale Notepad installed you may already have the font).

MaxScore for Live is currently in beta stage. We welcome your comments, suggestions and criticisms.

Wow. Georg Hajdu on the Ableton forum. Never thought I'd see that!

Never got into MaxScore before but I guess it's time to check it out. Thanks!

This thing is great! I have been hanging onto Logic solely because of its score mode, and now I think I can prepare lead sheets and scores with this instead! Generates Lilypond and MusicXML both! Lilypond for those who aren't familiar with it is an open-source music typesetting program that produces very high quality output from music scores represent in human-readable text form. So, you can take the output from MaxScore in Lilypond form and edit it using a regular text editor to tweak the layout.

I haven't given it much of a pounding yet, so I can say how robust it is, but so far it looks very nice.

WHAT $120 for the licence, I think that has just sealed its fate for me.

I was unable to get it to work under max 8.22 and 5.18 under os x lion. Max Score worked for me a week ago but not since the upgrade. I have a valid jsml licsense. Is anyone else having problems with this.

I am looking forward to using this instead of having BIAB and live both open.

Hello, we are planning to create a specific license for MaxScore at a substantially reduced price, stripping some of the features of JMSL. Nick (didkovn@mail.rockefeller.edu) has been very generous about extending the 30-day demo period if anyone needs more time to decide whether or not to buy the JMSL/MaxScore license.

@ecompositor: You're saying that you couldn't get it to run under Mac OS X Lion? Lion hasn't been officially released by Apple yet, so I can't really comment on this. So far, our support only includes Leopard and Snow Leopard as well as Windows XP through 7. I recommend you test the software on a machine with a supported OS, and please get back to me with further comments.
