(hopefully quick) Question about Launchpad StepSeq

Really sorry to bother everyone since this probably a stupid question but I was hoping someone could help a simpleton like myself out. I have searched this forum but can't find much mention of this problem. If I have missed anything then please point me in the right direction, I know starting new topics isn't really the done thing if it's already addressed elsewhere.

I have a small problem with Novation's Launchpad Step Sequencer.

How do I set up the StepSeq so that whenever I turn it on at any point, it starts the sequence at the beginning of the next bar, because currently it simply follows the master arrange from 1.1.1 which is kinda annoying if I want to start a pattern outside of any multiple of 8 (I have an 8 bar phrase).

Sorry if this is a silly question, my M4L knowledge is pretty minimal, but I do like using the Launchpad StepSeq and it would be great to have greater control on when I can trigger a pattern.
