Control M4L patch elements with Clip Envelopes?

Post by steff3 » Tue Sep 13, 2011 8:45 pm

Hello,

is it possible to control M4L UI Controls with Clip Envelopes? Or am I supposed to use MIDI for that?

Thanks

best

To my knowledge it should be possible but it heavily depends on the patch and the controls. However, do keep in mind that I'm not 100% sure here.

The main problem is that a clip envelope doesn't so much set a value but it changes it whereas the automation in arrangement view fully sets a value of a control. Therefor you'll also see with regular Live devices that you cannot access all controls in the Clip envelope section.

A good way to check this out is (for example) by pulling in a Simpler device and then check the available controls in both the clip envelope section as well as the automation section.
With kind regards,

Peter
