Access Audio recording on a MIDI track or vice versa?

Post by panten » Fri Jan 18, 2013 9:26 am

Hello, I'm just starting out in Max 4 Live and my 1st project is to try and enable recording audio to pads on the DrumRack so you can sample from any source, set start/end points and chop it all from a controller (in my case an MPD32)

I've learnt how to record to and access the buffer~ but the 1st brick wall I've now hit is how can you do this and control the Start/End points using a MIDI controller if I'm on an AUDIO track.

Do I need to Always have 2 tracks if I want to do this or is there some way of being able to record to the buffer and chop it from within 1 track(MIDI)?

If someone could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks
