I've not used Max4Live before but was wondering how difficult it would be to create a max4live midi editor (or modify an existing one). I got the idea after seeing that midiquest did an OB-8 editor and saw max4live ones like:

Moog Minitaur: http://maxforlive.com/images/screenshot ... ng&id=1071
Juno 106: http://maxforlive.com/images/screenshot ... jpg&id=220

Something like this but with a background Oberheim SEM style GUI I could do in photoshop and a knob / button for every parameter?

If anyone could give me any tips, advice or help with this would be superb.
Thanks

it's fairly simple,

Start with a Max Midi Effect
Objects you need:
midiin
midiout
ctlin
ctlout
live.dial

keep in mind if you right click on any object, and choose "open 'objects name' help" you will see a very useful help file for that object, explaining all the in and outs of that object.

Code:

if you want to create preset storage thats a wee bit more indepth, but still relatively simple, FIRST build out the patch based on what I posted. Then we can handle presetting.
Something to keep in mind prior to presetting.
For every live GUI object you create, give it a unique "Short Name" for display, and unique "Scripting Name" for when we get to setting up presets.
To name objects, right click on them and choose "Inspector,"
OR learn the hotkeys depending on PC vs Mac.
