Is the M4L in Live 9 including Gen?

It's stated clearly that M4L is based on Max 6 in Live 9.
Gen is an addition to Max 6 when buying Max stand-alone from Cycling 74.

Gen is mentioned on the Live 9 page by Ableton but it's not 100% clear for me that you actually get Gen when buying Live 9 Suite that includes Max for Live!?

Can anybody shed some light on this?

you do not need Gen to be able to use Gen devices. you can use them all you want. Gen works perfectly in 'runtime mode' inside m4l in live9.

however, you need to own Gen to be able to edit and create your own Gen devices. (highly recommended!). i presume you will be able to purchase Gen as an addon to M4L, just like you can as an addon to Max6. however, would be worth seeking some clarification from Ableton.

So I havn't got any clarification from Ableton or Cycling74 but look at the cross grade offer at C74 home page it appears that you can only get Gen as an add-on to Max 6, not for M4L. Which makes sense commercially. It's a way for C74 to get some extra money from the M4L customer base. I guess C74 are not getting $399 from Ableton but much less. And the cross grade for ML4 users to Max + Gen for $299 is pretty good value.
