Funny how you've always got some joke when I'm providing helpful information, but if someone even hints that they're not taking one of your threads seriously your sense of humor is nowhere to be found. Funny isn't it?

I have PM'd you about this post. I'm sorry you didn't like my joke.

hey ned, show me what I have to do so I can assign a LFO to the "random" button on the new monosequencer, so later I get new sequences all couple of beats. right now I can't assign the random button with anything.

Hi Ned

How about some kind of generative system spitting out sequences that can be manipulated in different ways, something that I am interested in but always get to a certain point and the complexity makes my head explode.. Basically I am crap at maths.

I think your tutorials are presented in the most entertaining style btw

Maybe I'm wrong about this, but it seems there is a lack of beginner tutorials that do something stupid simple to understand the basics of live.path and accessing parameters in Live.

Like a simple, here's how you make a live.dial control send A on Track 1
Here's how you make it dynamically choose a Track,
Here's how yo make it access sends on a chain in a drumRack
Here's how you tell the device to "KNOW" which Track its on and how to gather the id's from other devices in the Track.

Those kinds of things would have been super useful when I first got into this stuff.

control_surface tuts could be useful, and cover a lot of basics.

The arpeggiator idea sounds killer, I would watch that!

I do plan to put something new together soon. For now here's one I did sometime ago explaining the concept behind SupaCut Live, mainly live sampling and playback for audio mangling.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1H3Yxr_A80

i suck at API stuff but Cycling 74 did a video showing how to make a basic parameter sequencer in those videos posted earlier in this thread.

If you right click in a patcher window and go to paste from there are api abstractions you can browse that are a good starting point to experimenting.

okay i watched it. and tried to build it by my own. I under stand how it should work, but it doesnt.

It makes some strange sounds. quite nice, but not that what i expected :)))

I wished u had build it from beginning with an empty max device.

What is the box with the "t i i" ? the explanation was to short for me. What is it good for?

't' (trigger) is useful to reorder messages. The normal behavior is that messages go right to left.
If you send a bang to a 't b b' (b is for bang) it will output 2 bangs when you send a bang in it and you'll be able to reorder them.
Same thing for 't i i' which stands for integer.
you should check the help file or monitor its outputs with 2 print objects to get how it works.

I just posted the code into the description of the video! Copy and paste it into an empty max for live midi effect.
