I'm running 9.1.2 with Max 6.1 on a i7 @ 2.30GHz with 8GB of RAM with an SSD disk.
This is basically the first time i'm running into any problems with plugins slowing down my setup...

The weird thing is that I have been running the Dubmachines fine (after restarting Ableton after dropping them in) even on stage but the loading time of my project is excessive, CPU load won't come down and recently the DM's have started cutting out on giving output, this is quite worrying for live use.

Hi zenovdb. I am away so this is brief: dub machines require m4l based on max 6.1.7 or later -upgrade and all your problems will be fixed. Contact support@... for any further help. Good luck!

@ dave dove, thanks for the fantastic video! Really enjoyed it.

We will have an update coming out soon which fixes a few bugs and adds some features. We will let everyone know when that happens.

In the mean time, Josh Spoon just did some fantastic run through videos as well, you can check them out here:

Re: Dub Machines - Updated !

Post by stkr » Thu Oct 09, 2014 2:54 pm

Hi All.

At last it seems we have successfully released an update to Dub Machines - version 1.1 ;-)

It is a free update for all registered users of course. To get it, simply download the pack again from your Ableton account and install as normal over the top of your original Dub Machines installation.

This will not affect any sets or presets you have made with Dub Machines previously.

New features:
- Better dynamic CPU handling
- Faster device load times, including if many instances are present in a set
- New beat synchronisation for 'Repeat' (delay time) dials in both Magnetic and Diffuse
- Wow & Flutter and Noise refactored for better authenticity
- Smoother modulations
- Better gain staging for extreme overdriven use
+
- Many Bug Fixes covering stability, saving, undo/redo, CPU spikes, etc

NOTE: Dub Machines update 1.1 requires at least Live 9.1.2 and Max For Live based on Max 6.1.8 in order to operate correctly and take full advantage of the new features. We highly recommend the forthcoming Live 9.1.6 or later and Max 6.1.9 or later when they are released.

An updated manual is at the usual manual address http://www.surrealmachines.com/support/dubmachines.html, where you can also find a more detailed changelog.

Let us know if you have any problems or ideas: support@surrealmachines.com.

And watch this space for more Surreal Machines projects coming your way soon!...

Thanks!
Matt & Pete @ Surreal Machines.

just so you all know, yes, dub machines should work flawlessly with max 7 as your m4l engine in live 9.1.6 or later.

the latest release of the pack (update 1.1) was tested with beta versions of max 7 and live 9.

they also work in max 7 alone via the new [amxd~] object ;-)

let us know if you have any probs.

Actually, the first thing I've noticed is that the unwanted delay in Magnetic (when using the tape mode at something else than 100% wet) that you've worked hard on to fix some weeks ago, is back in Max 7.
Should we discuss this in the beta forum instead ?
