Preferences File/Folder has no Max Application setting?

I'm running Live 9 64-bit, trying to set up Max 7. Max 7 is installed on my computer. There's no section in Ableton's file/folder preferences for Max Application, so I can't tell it where to look for the program. Is there a step I've missed?

You're saying the entire section under Max Application is just missing? Was it there before you installed Max 7?

Definitely sounds wrong and sounds like a reinstall of Live might be necessary.

EDIT: oh, you are running Live 9.1.6 aren't you? No other version will work with Max 7.

Max Application settings weren't there when I installed it the first time (did a reformat recently).

Which version of Live and Max should I be using? I thought Live 9 shipped with Max for Live

Live 9 Suite ships with M4L. Do you have a license for Suite?

You should be running Live 9.1.6 and Max 7.0.1.

Ah, that would be the issue-- I have 9.1.6 Standard
