Device to map aftertouch (pressure) to modwheel?

Every now and then I run into a device or software instrument that doesn't utilize aftertouch (pressure) messages for some reason. It's frustrating. Anyway, I was wondering if there as a M4L device that might help me... or if not, should I try to built my own? I've never actually cracked open M4L to author my own device. Thanks,
