M4L won't update to v 7?

Updated Live 9 x64 Win 7 to 9.2.

Downloaded the latest version of Max (7.03) from the Ableton Website.

Installed Max 7

Rebooted

Loaded Live. Dropped a blank M4L onto a track.

Max 6 loads.

WTF?

Wonder if you have to uninstall 6?

You need to go into the preferences and point Live at the Max 7 executable rather than Max 6.

Gotcha (thanks), however there is conflicting info from Ableton and Cycling '74 regarding whether M4L gets a free upgrade to max 7 or not. If switching to Max 7 in preferences only gives me access to a demo than I'd rather not even mess around with it.

From Ableton:

"Live 9.2 comes with a handy new Tuner device while Max for Live now includes Max 7, the latest, most powerful version of Max."

7.0.3 also isn't the latest version of Max 7. Ableton don't have the updated link on their download page.

yeah...whats going on with this thing? now i have a max 6.1 folder and a max 7 app icon in my application folder (mac). max 7 wasn't an installer, it was a drag into application folder.

Thanks, that solved it.

(In Files Folder tab in preferences, under "Max Application", click Browse and select the Max 7 folder).
