New M4L features and devices?

Post by Muze » Mon Jun 29, 2015 10:43 pm

Just upgraded the Live 9.2/M4L 7

What new features and devices does M4L 7 have and where do I find them?

Where do we find included devices like "PitchTime Player"?
PitchTime Player: One of a dozen new Max for Live devices that ships with Max 7
Or does it only come with full version of Max 7? Not the one included in Live?

I believe most of the new devices only come with the full version of Max 7 - this is from past conversations on C74 threads, not sure I've seen this officially documented anywhere

Yeah but that just tells me what's new in Max 7, not M4L 7, there is some lack of clarity over which devices are included or not for example.

The new devices are in the Max7 application package.
Content>Ressources>C74>Packages>Max For Live>patchers.

I recommend you to copy and then paste the new devices from this folder to a folder in your user library (autotuna, bit player...).

Hi all,

we have a more effective way to access the new Max 7 devices, which should be ready to go soon, but for now, we have this guide:

Great thanks.

If I were to upgrade to the full Max would I also be able to export these as plugins to use in other hosts?

This is discotinued Max-related feature called Pluggo (for export Max devices as VST), and unfortunately not supported at presently.

I have a problem with most max patches, and in particular with the ones referenced here
Can anyone explain why I see this ...

and yes, I have hit the hotswap / find target thing. and it tells me the best candidate is the one which is in the exact same folder that the damn patcher is in

That's pretty it

What happens if you launch the device itself instead of one of its preset?

Hi, I just tried that and it works fine by dragging the device in. In this case "bassline".

although hotswapping causes the same issue as pictured above, the preset can't find its own daddy.
