quantized "mute"

Post by scheffkoch » Tue Aug 11, 2015 9:41 am

hi,
is there any m4l device out there that makes it possible to quantize the "mute" function of a track???...i mean...i would even pay for it...
it would be nice to have a device where you could choose the quantization value like 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 and don't worry about your finger's tightness anymore...ha...but really...my looper software had this functionality and imo it really frees your mind...

Alternatively you could route audio to another track and use quantized dummy clips for that.

...thanks for your suggestion!!!...i find dealing with a lot of dummy clips too complicated in a live situation though...

Does this work for you?

It's actually an audio effect as well, so if you want to preserve things like reverb and/or delay tails, place it before any effects chains. If you want to kill the entire signal, place it after.

…wow…this is awesome…exactly what i was looking for…thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…i realized one "problem": if i mute a continuous tone then i get a crackle when i mute and un-mute the sound…when i use the "regular" channel mute option i don't get theses crackles...

hi,
thanks for the new version!!!!...i'm still getting clicks when i un-mute the track...muting (with the fade set to 20ms) is flawless...is there a way to add a fade also when un-muting?
best
