max 7.06 is crashing live 9.5 immediately

today i switched from max 6 to 7.06. since then no matter which device i try to load, live is chrashing instantly.
i already sent a crash report to ableton, but i thought maybe someone has experienced something similar and can give me a simple solution :)
i already downloaded and installed max again with no luck
