After a crash : "trial not started saving disabled" . hmmm.

Post by Angstrom » Thu Jun 23, 2016 11:48 am

So today a max device crashed Live and after restarting Live

I now get a message "trial not started saving disabled", is there a decent way to fix this or is it time to do my usual full uninstall of Max, removal of all keys and folders and total re-install dance.

I mean, it has been 2 months since I last had to do it, so I guess it's time once again.

I find the new Max copy protection horrible.
I need to connect to the web and input my ids so often. I have Max on three computers. My main professional computer is not supposed to go on the internet but Max prompt me to authorize it EACH DAY.

an update on this:

I resolved this by uninstalling Max, and then deleting all the relevant folders, as described here https://www.ableton.com/en/help/article ... -for-live/

I then re-installed it and the "Trial Not Started" message has gone away. I've no idea what triggered that but uninstall/reinstall seems the only solution.
Hopefully it stays working for a while.
