Max For Live Step Sequencer for Launchpad MK2

HI.
I'm trying to set up my Launchpad to work as a step sequencer.
I tried the Max For Live Step Sequencer, But besides of some random lights showing in User 2, I couldn't get it to work, there is incoming midi but no other reaction.

Please can you help me in the set up? or maybe recommend some other step sequencer,
I'm new to Ableton and Launchpad all together . Thanks !

Novation one stopped working a long time ago, you're better off looking for a different one...
