Access Live instrument parameters from M4L

Post by Aeya_ » Wed Oct 04, 2017 10:30 am

I've not yet explored Max4Live, but I'm trying to modulate Analog's LFO offset w/o drawing an envelope. I need some way to map the LFO offset parameter to some number generator that generates a random number every 8th note, so that the LFO offset will have a different value every 8th note. It'd be cool if I could just map the LFO offset parameter to the velocity or some MIDI parameter, but that doesn't seem to be possible. Can anyone tell me how to quickly access this from Max4Live if it can't be done just in Live? Thanks!

Basically, what is the easiest way, w/o using 3rd party M4L devices, to map MIDI velocity to any parameter on a Live instrument?

Check the live object model, then learn how to write the path...

look at Max for Live Essentials Pack > Max Midi Effect > Control Devices MIDI > Expression Control.axmd

Thanks. I've been going through the Max4Live docs. This is very useful. Good to know I can use JS in Max as well.
