I use Ableton to run my DMX lights via the DMXis plugin (& hardware).
Lightcues are getting triggered via midi notes (first cue is C-2 note, and so on going up).
Once a lightcue is triggered, it stays on until another cue is triggered.

I'm wondering if a M4L solution exists where a (part of a) midi clipped gets looped (which has the lightcue note) while a button (on my launchpad) is being pressed, and the loop exits(so the rest of the midi clip is being played) when the button gets released?

My point is that I want the note that triggers the lightcue is being looped while the launchpad button is being pushed, and when released the midi clip plays on, and triggers another lightcue, being a blackout cue.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

I got a "momentary button" working based on this example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08MbIdNYtl4

My button reacts on both the push and the release (I see the levels going up), however it's not clear to me how I can actually play a midi note on release.
Anyone ?

With the Note Length native midi effect.

But is it possible to play a note on the push of a button, and another note on the release? I need 2 different notes to be played, the release note always being C-2

Based on your video example, drag a 'Pitch' midi effect on one of the two tracks that send the Midi to the virtual bus.

I'm probably doing something terribly wrong here, but no clip starts playing on the track with the "note length" effect and the trigger set to "note off" when I release the button on my launchpad....
What am I doing wrong ?
