Hello,

Often when I'm using Live and I click somewhere, Live temporarily freezes and then eventually carries on working again but gives me this red error page with lots of lines of:

live.observer set id: invalid id
live.object set id: invalid id
etc

Image

Recently it's started happening every time I open Live with the default template (note that my default template has no M4L devices in it). I have no idea what it means but it's getting pretty irritating. Does anybody know what the problem is and what I should do? Any help appreciated!

Cheers,

Pete

P.S. Apologies for the huge photo!

This is usually a harmless error, often caused by initializing some functions too quickly in a patch.

But hey, you MUST have some device somewhere in you default template.

Thanks for the reply. For sure my default template has a few devices in it, but it has no Max for Live devices in it at all. That's why I was confused as the error seems to be relating to M4L.

By the way, the actual project (other than when I load up the default template) I usually get this error coming up in is pretty CPU heavy (resting at 50% even without playback), and the audio is frequently stuttering or cutting out. Do you think the above error is occurring then because something internal isn't able to occur quickly enough?

Thanks again.

Have you tried clearing the max window, then reload your default template ? Do you still have these errors ? There must be a M4L device somewhere to generate these errors. Maybe in your drum rack default ? In return tracks ? in the Master ?
I don't even get how you have this window displayed without click on a m4L device's header.

Yep, I've cleared the window and reloaded many times, the error doesn't always happen but often does. And I know, I don't understand it either but theres no M4L devices! All I have is an empty Operator track, an empty Drum Rack, two returns with ValhallaVintageVerb on it, and a master channel with a few 3rd party plugins. Would it be worth doing a uninstall/reinstall of Max, and failing that, doing an uninstall/reinstall of Live?

Thanks!

What i would do is create a new liveset. Delete everything (no returns, no effect). Just one audio track and nothing else. Save it somewhere. Load it and see what it displays.

I wish the admins would automate image resizing for posts. Until ten it would be nice if people resized their own images. Not everyone have high rez displays.

Admins?
