Parameters won't change when device is out of focus

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Max For Live instrument, utilizing JSUI for a custom interface, and this seems to be bringing up some tricky to debug problems.

When the device is in focus in Ableton (when my device is visible, and the track is chosen), it is working fine, but when I click on any other track, my instrument does recognize any changes in pitch, it freezes at the last played note and continues droning on and on.

Is this behavior that any of you have come across? I know that some objects, like [key], do not function when Max is no longer the window in focus, are there other objects that behave like this?
