Ableton config: boot without any warning dialogues

Post by orsjb » Wed Feb 20, 2019 3:02 am

Hey, I know this isn't strictly a M4L question but I thought the people here would be most likely to know the answer. I'm using Ableton/M4L in an art installation and it needs to boot on startup and autorun. However, when Ableton has crashed (or when the computers power is cut, which is what happens) then there is a user dialogue on startup asking you if you want to recover your work. This dialogue is stopping my program from autorunning. I need to stop Ableton firing up any dialogues at all on startup.

I know there is a file somewhere that I can trash, or a config I can change, that will stop this happening. I just can't remember what it is or where it is.

Any clues?

Cheers, Ollie Bown

Solved: just write a script that trashes the various files and folders in ~/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live x.x.x/ that have the word "Crash" in their names.

Just in case :
have a look at my "do not save" device for inspiration : http://www.maxforlive.com/library/devic ... o-not-save
You can detect if the crash message occurs, and virtually click on the dialog box with the API.
