In a modular scenario is really common to trig step sequencers from different sources (not only linear clocks)
I'd like to do the same with ableton, outputting a clock which is generated by the notes in a midi track. The final goal is to trig a midi step sequencer (in Liine Lemur), which follows MIDI sync, with a ableton midi clip: for every midi note the sequencer push forward a step
Is there something like this?
midi clip as clock for step sequencing

I don't know if it exists, I've done that myself in very personal (meaning, I won't share) patches.
In most of the cases, it should be trivial to customize a sequencer to act as you described. Is there any specific sequencer that you would like to "trigger" enable ?

The sequencer is Lemur stepslider

I thought you wanted to use a M4L sequencer (it's the M4L forum section here).
I don't know how the Lemur sequencer works so I can't tell how to hack it, sorry.
