Track selection triggering devices research.

Post by KuzmaKuznetsov » Wed May 15, 2019 6:38 pm

Hi there!

Is it possible to make a device that activates certain devices on the track when
the track selected and deactivates it after selection of other track?
Could you advise some devices or objects to make it possible?

Have a nice day!

It is possible, since there are M4L devices that clearly can watch what track is selected:

The mapping in devices like LFO assigned to the on/off switch of devices does turn on/off the devices (when LFO is set to Square or Bin), so I guess if you can link the monitoring in the devices above with a common M4L mapping UI it would work.

Thank's!
Its great news that it is possible.
Unfortunately, I totally newbie with max4l, but I'll try to research how to do that.

If you could give me some details or advices how to do that I will be really grateful!

Have a nice flow!

I agree it’s possible. I remember finding something on the Max forums (cycling74) where using this.device you could find its number relative to the other devices on the track. Using that method you could select a particular device (relative to the Max device) and enable it when the track is selected or goes high (==1).
